ARAHINA – LEAD

Our Leadership Programmes

Formation Programme

The Formation Programme is designed to prepare students for mission and ministry in a Three Tikanga Church. Through a balance of theological education, spiritual formation, and practical experience, students will:

    • Engage deeply with Te Ao Māori, the wisdom of Pasifika traditions, and the heritage of Western Christian thought.
    • Develop the skills needed to navigate and serve within and across Tikanga.
    • Learn from experienced leaders and scholars across the Anglican Church.
    • Participate in immersive community life, where formation happens in relationship and practice.

All residential students participate in the Formation Programme, with workshops taking place weekly on  Friday mornings during semesters.

Te Toi Amorangi: Global Anglican Leadership Programme

Te Toi Amorangi is a two-year residential formation programme grounded in indigenous mātauranga. Eschewing the usual emphasis on formation built around a full academic workload, the programme splits the ākonga’s time over the two years exactly in half: fifty percent dedicated to a theological qualification; fifty percent to the immersive work of formation—the holistic redirection of ngākau (heart), hinengaro (mind), and hanganga (habits) toward the life of Te Karaiti.
Focusing on Aratūtohu (wayfinding), Karakia (worship), Hauora (wellbeing), and Kauhau (storytelling) the goal is to do our part in producing ministers capable of leading dynamic, Christ-centred communities through worship, storytelling, and sustainable service that fosters oranga ake—the flourishing of humanity and creation.
The usual theological qualification option for Te Toi Amorangi ākonga is the NZ Diploma in Christian Studies delivered by St Johns Theological College through the Te Takawai Network.
